It was Marcus Mosiah Garvey, a Jamaican National hero, who penned the following quote:
“A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture are like trees without roots. If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. Liberate the minds of men and ultimately you will liberate the bodies of men.”
The writer in his quest to capitalize on these words penned this historic journey, a journey aimed at taking the reader along the most vivid trajectory which unveils the heart wrenching experiences in which our forefathers were enslaved.
